Dryer - Adaptive Cool-Down

Many dryers have an Adaptive Cool-Down feature as a part of the dryer design. This is not an option that is selected on the control panel. This is integrated into the function of the drying cycle being used.

Understanding the Adaptive Cool-Down Feature on a Dryer

Adaptive Cool-Down is the advanced cool-down benefit provided by the thermistor heat control cycles on a dryer.

  • The stainless steel dryer drum continually monitors the outlet air temperature throughout the cool-down process and keeps the clothes tumbling until they are completely cool. Regardless of the load size and type, the dryer continues to tumble until the contents are completely cool.
  • This is critical to preventing wrinkles. Wrinkling occurs when hot air condenses on the hot clothes, setting in major wrinkles.
