Zoneline RAKOIM Optional Interface Module

RAKOIM Optional Interface Module is required if a Zoneline unit is to be installed with a Central Desk Control or a Remote Thermostat Control. The RAKOIM is installed under the control box. There are channels to contain the RAKOIM and screws are provided to secure it in place. There is a short wiring harness included on the RAKOIM that plugs into a mating receptacle on the front of the control box just below the dip switches.

The RAKOIM is only needed when trying to hook up an AZ22, AZ32 or AZ52 series unit (manufactured between 1998-2001) up to a remote wall thermostat. It also utilizes a 24 volt DC (not AC) circuit to communicate with the thermostat, so special attention has to be paid to finding a DC compatible thermostat. GE Appliances only offers AC thermostats.

  • Note: Wall thermostat must be a mechanical or a DC thermostat. Most thermostats today are 24 volt AC and not compatible with the RAKOIM. At the time that this product was introduced, most wall thermostats were mechanical and the AC or DC was not relevant.

The module itself connects to the unit and has contacts on it to allow the wiring from the remote thermostat to connect to the Zoneline. Those same terminals can be used to connect the wireless module component in a wireless thermostat kit. The RAKOIM is NOT a wireless module, nor does it contain one.

Follow the instructions included with the RAKOIM when installing this accessory.
