Washers - SensorWash

Washers with SensorWash (older washers) have an Automatic Temperature Control (ATC).  Various seasonal and household factors affect washer inlet water temperature. Ex.: colder winter weather, the distance from the hot water heater to the washer, and a nearly depleted hot water heater.

The ATC washer compensates for these factors by occasionally turning on and off either the Hot or Cold water valve. These adjustments are limited to short bursts to prevent clothes damage. ATC Cold and Hot fills work regardless of lid position.

As a safety factor however, the ATC Warm fill will NOT turn off the Cold water valve if the lid is left open. Since our washers will not agitate with the lid open most users close the lid before or early in the fill. Closing the lid late in the fill may reduce ATC Warm compensation. At the worst,(i.e. lid left open during the entire fill), the ATC Warm would work identical to the NON-ATC Warm.
