Refrigerator - Cooling Plate

Some owner's manuals on old, smaller refrigerators, (9 cu. ft. and smaller) refer to a cooling plate. This is simply another term for an evaporator. In most new models, this is now wrapped around the walls or ceiling in the form of a plate rather than the old style evaporator "box".
