Removing the Wood Base on the Bottom of A Dishwasher

All Built-in Models

Older Models

Leave the dishwasher upright and remove the 4 hex-head screws that hold the dishwasher to the wood base. The screws are located inside the "U" shaped frame, near the door springs. Discard the screws and wood base.

New Models

Do not kick off the wood base as damage will occur.

  • Move the dishwasher close to the installation location and lay it on its back. NOTE: Do not place the dishwasher on its side.
  • For models with an attached wood base, remove the 4 leveling legs on the underside of the wood base with a 15/16” socket wrench. Discard the base.
  • On models without the center bottom adjustable leveling system: Screw the leveling legs back into the dishwasher frame, approximately 1/2” from the frame.
  • On models with the center bottom adjustable leveling system: Screw the front leveling legs back into the dishwasher frame approximately 1/2”.

All Portable/Convertible Models

Older Models

Carefully lay the dishwasher on its back, being careful not to damage the power cord or unicouple assembly. There will be 4 hex-head screws screwed through the wood into the dishwasher. Remove and discard the screws and wood base. Stand the dishwasher upright.

New Models

There is not a wood base on the bottom of a new portable dishwasher model.

  • Move the dishwasher close to its intended use and storage location.
  • Place two shipping corner posts or other protective material behind it.
  • Carefully lay the dishwasher over onto its side and rest it on the protective surface.
  • Firmly push the casters into holes. Casters must be inserted completely. Pull on each caster to make sure they are secured in position. NOTE: It may be helpful to place a piece of wood between the caster wheels and then lightly tap the wood with a hammer.
  • Carefully raise the dishwasher upright onto its casters.
