Refrigerator - Vacation Mode Feature
Some older refrigerator models had a specific Vacation Mode feature. None of our current refrigerator models offer this feature.
Understanding the Vacation Mode Feature
Vacation mode was an energy saver feature found on some older refrigerators. Based on low or no door openings and decreased run time for the compressor, the refrigerator will extend the time between defrost cycles, thereby saving energy by not defrosting as often.
Current refrigerators use an adaptive defrost which produces similar results. For more information, please take a look at our Refrigerator- Frost Guard / Adaptive Defrost article.
