Precision Cooking Probe - JXSOUSV1

The optional JXSOUSV1 Precision Cooking Probe (also called the Sous Vide Probe) works with select GE Cafe Series Induction Cooktops. Check the product specifications or Related Parts & Accessories for your model to determine whether the Precision Cooking Probe can be used.

Using the Sous Vide Precision Cooking Probe

The probe uses Bluetooth technology to communicate directly with the Cooktop to maintain the temperature you set between 100 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The probe will keep the temperature within your pot or cooking vessel within 1 degree. The Precision Cooking Probe can be used for slow cooking, simmering, and advanced cooking techniques like Sous Vide. It's useful currently for chocolate applications, for example, tempering, holding melted chocolate for dipping, or ganache. We are always looking to expand the functionality and are examining the capability to do sugar based candy making in the future.

The JXSOUSV1 Probe comes with the following:

  • Probe
  • Cooktop Adapter (Communication module): Plugs into a jack under the Cooktop burner box and is magnetic, so it sticks to the underside of the Cooktop. The module (adapter) communicates with the probe using Bluetooth.
  • Recharging Cord: Plugs into the Probe.
    • Uses a lithium-ion battery and a micro-USB for charging.
    • 50 to 60 hours (on a full charge) is a good estimate of usage on one charge. Once the low battery indicator starts flashing, it has 20% battery life remaining.
Note:
  • Can only be used on the largest 11” burner.
  • Any Cooktop configured with JXSOUSV1 kit will run up to 72 hours and this is okay to run a Cooktop this long.
  • Same as the part number WB24X30408.
