Top Load Washers - Rinse Water Level

Starting March 2015, top-load washers with electromechanical controls (timer knob) use noticeably less water during rinse than the wash portion of the cycle unless the fabric softener option (Deep Fill Rinse, Power Rinse).If the washer does not have a fabric softener rinse option or it is not selected, the washer will not spin between the wash and rinse portion of the cycle. It will drain and then complete several spray rinses, and then drain again. After the rinse water is drained the machine will go into the final spin.If the fabric softener rinse option is selected, the washer will fill for the rinse, and should match the wash fill level.
