Microwave - Defrost-by-Weight Feature

In the past, we offered a Defrost-by-Weight feature on some microwaves which used a Food Group category and weight for defrosting meats, poultry and fish.

Using the Defrost-by-Weight Feature on Microwaves

This feature (NLA) found on select microwaves enabled defrosting of large, dense items thoroughly while avoiding partial cooking of the outer portions.

This feature defrosted food based upon food group and weight. You can check the Owner's Manual for different weight codes for your specific model. The system utilized 3 power levels that were determined by the food groups of Meat, Poultry or Fish. The weight of the food determined the time the food was to be defrosted. The minimum weight was 1/10 of a pound. The maximum weight was 6 pounds of meat and poultry, 3 pounds of seafood.
