Compactor - Feature Glossary

Automatic Odor Control Spray: Helps control odors that might otherwise develop in the trash.

  • Round Bucket Compactall compactors - a measured amount of liquid odor control is sprayed onto the trash in the bucket as the ram moves downward at the start of each compacting cycle.
  • Square Bucket Compactall compactors - use the stick-on type air fresheners purchased from the local supermarket.

Belt and Pulley Drive:  Quiet operation. Power to the ram is transmitted quietly from the motor by use of a glass-reinforced cleated belt that resists stretching and a dimensionally- stable thermoplastic resin gear. This helps to prevent tooth-to-tooth variations that could produce repetitive hum and increased wear.

Door Stop:  Special door stop built into hinge stops door swing at a 140 degree opening to prevent door from hitting adjacent cabinets and to facilitate removal of bucket.

Easy Cleanability:  Open the door and bucket lifts off to make ram and smooth cabinet interior easily accessible for cleaning with normal mild household cleaners. Cabinet exterior, finished in durable acrylic enamel, cleans easily with a damp cloth.

Removable Key Knob Control:  To help prevent unauthorized operation of the compactor, turn the knob to stop position and remove key knob from unit.  Three-position control:
  • Start -Turn knob to "Start" position and hold momentarily until compactor starts. Then release.
  • Normal -Knob will return automatically to normal position from start
  • Stop - If necessary to stop compactor cycle, turn knob to "Stop" position, and the compactor will stop immediately. Then return to normal operating position to return the ram to its starting position so door can be opened.

Reversible Door Swing: - The trash door is hinged at the factory on the right side and opens from left to right.  The door can be reversed to hinge on the other side for more convenient loading or where side obstructions interfere with door opening.
