Air Conditioner - Slide-Out Chassis

Some older window air conditioners and most wall air conditioners have a slide-out chassis. The chassis can be removed from the outside case so the case can be installed in the window or wall before putting the heavier chassis back in the case.

Understanding the Slide-Out Chassis Feature on an Air Conditioner

Initial installation requires that you pull out the chassis anyway to attach the surrounding framework and curtains to the case. If service or replacement of the air conditioner is needed, the chassis can be removed and worked on without complete disassembly from wall.

On "J" case built-in wall air conditioners, models starting with the letters AJ, the chassis can be replaced without changing the case in the wall. "J" case models have the following dimensions:

• 15-5/8" high
• 26" wide
• 16-7/8" deep
