Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - No Filter Reset Pad
On GE and GE Profile French-Door and Bottom Freezer refrigerators that use the RPWFE water filter, the appliance uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to detect leaks and monitor the filter status. The RFID automatically resets the Replace Water Filter message or light when a new RFID filter is installed.
Understanding the No Filter Reset Pad on a Bottom Freezer and French- Door Refrigerator
Touch Screen Models (LCD Display)
A filter status message will appear on the screen when the water filter needs to be replaced. The filter status will automatically update when the filter is replaced.
Non-Touch Screen Models (Touch Pads)
A Water Filter indicator light will illuminate on the screen when the water filter needs to be replaced. It will stop illuminating when the filter is replaced.
