Refrigerator - Keurig® Brewing System Leaking from Door
If you are experience leaking from inside or under the fresh food door on a refrigerator with the Keurig® K-Cup Brewing System, first make sure the K-Cup pod is pushed down into the brewer all the way. You should hear a snap or pop when the lower pin pierces the pod. If the bottom of the brewer is not pierced, water cannot flow through the pod and instead is released inside the door.
Resolving a Concern With a Keurig® Brewing System Leaking From the Door on a Refrigerator
If the pod is seated in the brewer properly, it is possible there is a clog in the brewer's upper and/or lower piercing pin. If this happens, the brewer will not work.
Cleaning the Upper Piercing Pin
- With the brewer closed, insert a straightened paper clip into the small hole at the top of the brewer and straight down into the pin. Move the paper clip up and down in the pin a few times, then remove.
- Open the brewer lid and find the holes in the pin. Use the paper clip to push grounds or other material out of the outlet holes of the pin.
- Rinse by running water into the top of the brewer and out the pin.
- Rinse the tip of the pin directly in a stream of water.
- Before replacing the brewer, dispense 10 ounces of hot water to purge excess water in the hot water system.
Cleaning the Lower Piercing Pin
- Insert a straightened paper clip into the inlet slot on the side of the lower pin. The slot is on the same side of the pin as the point on top.
- Remove the paper clip and rinse the pin directly under a stream of running water.
- Before replacing the brewer, dispense 10 ounces of hot water to purge excess water in the hot water system.

Note: If any interrupted or abnormal dispenses are experienced, please use the hot water feature and dispense 10 ounces of water, at any temperature, to purge the system.
