Refrigerator - Keurig® Brewing System K-Cup Recommendations
On refrigerators with the Keurig® K-Cup Brewing System, the Single Use brewer is designed to accept K-Cup coffee, tea, cider, and hot cocoa pods. It will not supply cold water nor work with cold water K-cups.
Understanding and Using the Keurig® Brewing System K-Cup Options on a Refrigerator
We recommend Keurig/Green Mountain K-Cups because of their quality and performance. You can also use K-Cups with the logo "Keurig", "Keurig Brewed", or "Keurig Hot" on the packaging or pod. These cups/pods have been authorized by Keurig®, and the emblem is found on a variety of different brands (not just Keurig brands). The brewer will not accommodate the Keurig "My K-Cup" adapter that allows you to brew coffee without a K-Cup installed, though some generic versions of the adapter may work. Since the refrigerator brewer does not have a reader, in general it will allow use with:
Keurig 2.0 pods
Single use pods without the black "Keurig Brewed" emblem (generic pods)
Use caution when using non-Keurig/Keurig Brewed K-Cups, as they are more prone to clogging the brewer or may not work at all. In fact, some non-Keurig pods have a dome shaped bottom that is difficult to pierce. The refrigerator's Keurig brewing system is designed to work with single use K-Cup pods, and not reusable K-Cups. At this time, all the reusable pods we have found on the market do not allow the brewer to close and lock properly.
