Smart Refrigerator - Keurig® Brewing System Hot Water Disabled Message
With refrigerators with the Keurig® K-Cup Brewing System, you may see a "Hot Water Disabled" message on the display. When this happens you will not be able to dispense hot water and the brewing system will not work. If you see "Hot Water Disabled" on the screen, check the following.
Connected to WiFi
If your refrigerator is connected to WiFi using the SmartHQ™ app, check to see if the app on your smartphone is prompting you to update the refrigerator software. If so, update the software using the SmartHQ app as soon as possible. This can take up to 30 minutes and refrigerator functionality will be lost during this time. Hot water will no longer be disabled once the software is updated.
Water Connections
Make sure water is connected to the refrigerator and water is going to the refrigerator. For more information, consult your Installation Instructions.
Download a copy of your Installation Instructions.
Filter Replacement
Replace the filter if needed. Directions are in your Owner's Manual. Be sure to purge your filter after replacing it by holding down the paddle on the dispenser until you can run 3 gallons of cold water through the system.
Download a copy of your Owner's Manual.
Brewer Installed Properly
Check the brewer to make sure it is installed properly. When brewing is selected, the stainless dispenser tube (nozzle) will come down into the hole at the top of the brewer. If it hits the top of the brewer instead, no hot water will be dispensed. If this is happening, you'll see marks at the top of the brewer from where the nozzle was hitting the top. Remove the brewer and slide it back into the tracks; it should rest against the dispenser face.
- To clear the message, turn off power to the refrigerator for 1 minute.
- If this happens repeatedly, service will be required.
Note: If any interrupted or abnormal dispenses are experienced, please use the hot water feature and dispense 10 oz of water, at any temperature, to purge the system.
Support
If you need assistance with the software update, the SmartHQ app or the WiFi connectivity of the refrigerator, call the Connected Home Support Line at 1-800-220-6899 (Monday - Friday 9am - 9pm EST, Saturday 9am - 3pm EST), or email

Once you have checked or corrected these items, try dispensing hot water. If it still won't work, unplug the refrigerator or turn it off at the house circuit breaker for 1 minute. If these suggestions do not correct the issue, we recommend service. For service, please schedule an appointment with
Bodewell.
