Reverse Osmosis - Air Gap Hole Leaking
There is an air gap hole on the faucet base of a Reverse Osmosis System. When working properly, water should not leak from the air gap hole.
Diagnosing Water Leaking from the Air Gap Hole on a Reverse Osmosis System Faucet
A water leak from a faucet air gap hole on a Reverse Osmosis System is normally caused by one of the following:
- A plug or restriction on the drain side of the faucet air gap (3/8" tubing).
- Incorrect connection to the drain.
To correct, inspect and eliminate restrictions or plugs. It is important that there are no dips, loops or low spots in the drain line from the faucet air gap to the drain pipe. Refer to the Installation Instructions for the Reverse Osmosis System you own for proper drain connection. If the drain line adapter was used as the drain point, periodic inspection/cleaning is recommended.
