Gas Range - WB31X24998 / JXGRILL1 Cast Iron Reversible Griddle / Grill

The heavy-duty cast iron reversible grill/griddle WB31X24998, also known as JXGRILL1*, is designed for use with select models of GE and GE Profile™ gas ranges. Because the grill/griddle interlocks with the grates, it only works with our gas freestanding and slide-in ranges with "Edge-to-Edge" cooktops. This is where the grates go to the edge of the cooktop.

 
*The JXGRILL1 and JXGRILL2 accessories are not interchangeable.

About the WB31X24998 (JXGRILL1) Grill/Griddle

The griddle side provides an extra-large cooking surface for meats, pancakes and other foods usually prepared in a skillet while the ribbed grill side can be used for food that is normally grilled, like meats or vegetables. This reversible grill/griddle is 19-1/2" x 10" and has a cooking area of approximately 15-3/4" x 8-3/4" on both sides.

 

How to Use the Reversible Grill/Griddle

The reversible cast-iron grill/griddle can only be used over the center burner on the cooktop. To use the grill/griddle, remove the center grate (if present) and put the grill/griddle in its place.

 

Cleaning the Grill/Griddle

Cleaning the grill/griddle is easy, though seasoning it before first use and after cleaning keeps the cooking surface at its best.

 
  1. Rinse with hot water. We don't recommending using soap. The grill/griddle also shouldn't be put in the dishwasher.
  2. If there's food stuck to the surface, use a stiff brush while rinsing with hot water.
  3. Dry the grill/griddle thoroughly.
  4. Follow these steps seasoning the grill/griddle. To do this, spray the surface with cooking spray or wipe with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Wipe off any excess oil with a dry paper towel.
