Understanding the Use of the Sanitize Cycle on a Dryer

The Sanitize Cycle on your dryer reduces certain types of bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The anti-bacterial process occurs when high heat is used during a portion of the drying cycle; the cool-down portion of the cycle also will be longer due to the higher drying temperatures.
