Advantium Oven - Broiling

Broil uses the upper lamps, lower heater and convection system to broil food similar to a conventional oven. Before you begin, make sure the turntable is in place. Use only the metal tray or metal grill tray (on some models) when broiling. Use the metal tray in the same way you would use a shallow pan.

Caution: The oven and door will get very hot when speedcooking, convection baking, broiling, warming or toasting. Cookware will become hot. Oven mitts will be needed to handle the cookware.

The Owner's Manual covers the proper cookware in detail. Download a copy of the Owner's Manual.

Do not use the following cookware or coverings during Broil:

  • Use of the glass or white ceramic tray can affect cooking performance, and could also cause the tray to crack.
  • Do not use the wire rack(s).
  • Do not cover dishes or use plastic containers, plastic cooking or roasting bags, plastic wrap, wax paper or paper.
  • Silicone and "oven safe" plastic cookware should not be used because the temperature in the oven can exceed the temperatures recommended by the cookware manufacturers.

Cooking tips:

  • Broiling times may be shorter in the Advantium oven because of the use of halogen lamps. Make sure to monitor food closely to get the desired results.
  • Broiling meats in the oven may produce smoke.
  • For best performance, preheat the oven for 5 minutes when broiling meat.
  • If preheating the oven to broil meat, preheat with the metal grill tray in the oven and place food on the hot metal tray for best searing of meat.
  • Chicken performs best with no preheating.
  • Foods should be turned halfway through broiling time.
  • Remove thinner pieces as needed to prevent overcooking and drying.
