Ice Maker - Outdoor Installation of UCC15NJII & UNC15NJII models
The 15"W Nugget and Gourmet ice makers can be installed as freestanding or built-in units. They can also be installed in indoor or for LIMITED outdoor applications.
Outdoor Use:
- Keep from freezing. Severe damage will occur to the unit if operated in ambient temperatures less than 50°F or higher than 100°F. The ideal temperature is between 70°F and 80°F. Damage due to external temperatures is not covered by warranty.
-
- Note: ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories) rated for limited outdoor use because it can operate in temperature range of 50-100°F and it is weather-proofed for electrical components, designed with special precautions used to protect from water and elements.
- Keep dry. Do not install where the unit can come in contact with water, including low lying areas where puddles can accumulate.
- Provide shade. Heat from the sun will reduce the unit's ability to make and store ice and can potentially damage the unit's plastic parts.
- Use proper temperature water supply. The maximum water temperature entering the unit should be no less than 40°F and no more than 100°F.
- Avoid sun expose to water supply. Avoid a long run of hose or tubing exposed to the sun. Plastic water supply tubing should be rated for potable (drinking) water and include UN protection. Copper tubing is recommended.
- The unit should be connected to potable (drinkable) water; however, we do not recommend using de-ionized water or a whole home reverse osmosis system.
Draining Information
- Do not drain into a swimming pool or onto landscaping.
- A 90 degree elbow can be added to the drain line.
- There is an optional Ice Maker Drain Pump Kit (UPK3) available to purchase if a drain pump is needed. Tubing included with UPK3 is 5/8".
