Window Air Conditioner - Cool Light Flashing
Many Window Air Conditioners have a Cool indicator light. This is an LED light and is usually solid in the display while the Air Conditioner is running.
Understanding Why the LED Cool Indicator Light is Flashing on a Window Air Conditioner
If the Cool LED indicator light is flashing on the control panel of your Window Air Conditioner, this can be an indication that the evaporator coils are frosting up or are too cold. It is signaling that the evaporator temperature is too low and that the compressor may need to cycle off briefly until the evaporator temperature rises. The primary cause for the evaporator temperature being too low is low outside temperatures while the appliance is running. Typically, this would be an outside temperature below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. You may want to manually turn the Air Conditioner off if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees.
Additional Support
If the outside temperatures are warm and the Window Air Conditioner does not cycle the compressor off, but the Cool LED indicator light is flashing, service will be needed. For service, please schedule a repair appointment with GE Appliances Factory Service.
Not all Window Air Conditioners have repair service available. Please consult the Owner's Manual for the model you own for specific details about warranty and service coverage.
