Top Load Washer - Water Sprays Suddenly or Water Leaking into Tub
With Top Load Washers, it is not uncommon to have a small amount of water at the bottom of the wash basket after a wash load is complete. The amount of water is typically a 1/2 cup of water or less, and is considered normal.
Understanding Why a Small Amount of Water Sprays Suddenly or Leaks Into the Tub on a Top Load Washer
A small amount of water spraying suddenly will occur when water becomes trapped in the fill nozzle (fill tube) at the top of the wash basket after the water shuts off after filling. Often the nozzle doesn't immediately drain all of the remaining water, so after some time, even a few hours later, the water tension holding in the water breaks and the last amount of water is released or spurted from the fill nozzle. It is similar to the small spurt or burst of water that sometimes comes out of a bathroom shower head after the water is turned off. This is normal and does not harm the Washer in any way.
