Air Conditioner - 2, 4 and 6-Way Adjustable Air Discharge Louvers

Many of our GE Appliances air conditioners have adjustable louvers on the front to direct the airflow into the room. Pivot the louvers from side to side and/or up and down to maximize airflow to the center of the room. Models with adjustable louvers will either have a 2-Way, 4-Way or 6-Way louver style. These styles vary in the number of air flow directions that are possible. If the louvers are not adjustable or point in the wrong direction for your needs, add-on deflectors can help redirect the airflow.

Air Conditioner Louver Styles

2-Way Adjustable Louvers

These 2-Way adjustable can be adjusted vertically, allowing you to direct your air conditioner's air flow either up or down.

4-Way Adjustable Louvers

This style of 4-way louvers allows you to adjust the air flow vertically and horizontally. The whole louver assembly can be rotated up or down while the internal louvers can be rotated left or right.

6-Way Adjustable Louvers

With this style of 6-way louvers, the louver area has 2 sections, a left and a right. Each section has it's own independent louvers that can be adjusted 4 ways; up, down, left and right. In addition, the entire louver area can be angled up and down for a total of 6 possible directions.

Benefits of Air Flow Adjustment On Your Air Conditioner

Changing the direction of your air conditioner's louvers can increase it's cooling efficiency.  For maximum efficiency, it is best to adjust the louvers to face upward when cooling.
