Gas Range - Gas/Control Lockout

The Gas/Control Lockout feature on a Gas Range or Dual Fuel Range disables the surface burners and oven. The oven control panel is locked so pressing the buttons/pads does not activate the controls. Gas flow is stopped to both the cooktop burners and the oven.

Control Lockout Feature

  • The Gas/Control Lockout feature locked the oven control panel as well as the gas flow to the surface burners.
  • As of the Summer of 2013 (with the exception of the CGS985, CGS990, and C2S985 models) the Control Lockout feature locks out the oven controls only, not the gas surface burners. For more information on the Control Lockout feature, please take a look at our article Gas Range - Explanation of the Lockout Feature.

Using the Gas/Control Lockout Feature

To activate and deactivate the Gas/Control Lockout feature, do the following:

  • Press and hold the Gas/Control Lockout button/pad for 3 seconds to lock or unlock the control. The Clear/Off pad is always active, even when the control is locked.
