It is an odorless, tasteless gas. The amount and type of refrigerant (also called coolant or Freon) is listed on the rating plate of the appliance.

• Prior to 1995: R-12 (R12)

• 1995 to 12/31/2009: R-22 (R22)

• 12/31/2009 to Current: R-410A (R410A) or R-32 (R32)
