Over-the-Range Microwave - Power Saver Feature
Many electronic appliances, including Over-the-Range Microwaves, consume electric power while they are switched off or in a standby mode. Eliminating the use of standby power can reduce the operating cost of an appliance.
Using the Power Saver Feature on an Over-the-Range Microwave
Some Over-the-Range Microwaves have a Power Saver feature that allows your Microwave to reduce energy use by turning off the display. You can check the Owner's Manual for your specific Microwave model to see if it has the Power Saver feature. When the Power Saver feature is turned on, you can continue to use the Microwave, vent fan and surface lights. The applicable display icons or cooking time will come on but the clock will not be displayed.
Activating the Power Saver Feature
Press the Power Saver button on the Microwave. The Microwave will display “Power Saver is On.” Once the appliance has been in standby mode (no buttons pressed or cooking performed) for one minute, the display will turn off.
Note: The clock will not display in this mode. When a button is pressed, the display will turn on throughout the operation and remain on until the Microwave has been in standby for one minute.
Deactivating the Power Saver Feature
Press the Power Saver button on the Microwave. The display will come on and will read “Power Saver is Off.” The clock will remain in the display despite the length of time in standby mode.
