Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Freezer Drawer Not Sealing Properly
If the freezer drawer on a French Door or Bottom Freezer Refrigerator is not sealing properly, frost or ice may begin to form in the freezer. If this occurs, there are some things you can do in an attempt to remedy this concern. Please check the following troubleshooting tips.
Checking Freezer Drawer Closure
If your Refrigerator was just installed, make sure all Styrofoam and shipping materials were removed.
Check that there are no packages in the freezer that may be preventing the door from closing and sealing properly.
Wiggle the lower freezer basket to make sure it is fully seated in the slides.
With the freezer door open, check to make sure the gasket is fully seated in the groove on the door. Starting at the corners, slide a finger or pen along the edge to verify the gasket is in the groove.
Diagnosing the Door Gasket
The freezer door should touch the frame of the Refrigerator and the gaps between the gasket and the door should be the same at the top and the bottom.
If the gasket is not touching the freezer door and frame of the Refrigerator evenly on all sides, follow the instructions in the following video for adjusting the freezer door.
