Range & Wall Oven - Tips for Setting and Using the Timer

Provided below are some tips for setting or using the Timer or Kitchen Timer on your Range or Wall Oven.

Operating the Timer / Kitchen Timer

  1. When you press the Timer pad or Kitchen Timer pad/option, zeros (00:00) will show in the display.

  2. You enter the time in hours and/or minutes according to the instructions in the Owner's Manual. For example, to set the Timer for 5 minutes, you press the number 5 or the + pad until it shows 5 (depending on your model) and the Timer display shows 00:05. This is 5 minutes. For 1 hour, you press the numbers 1, 0, 0, or the + pad until it shows 1, 0, 0, and the Timer display shows 01:00. This is 1 hour.

  3. Press Start or Set to start the Timer.

For model specific instructions regarding use of the Kitchen Timer, download a copy of the Owner's Manual for your model at any time.

Facts About the Timer

  • This is an hour and minute Timer, so the time in the display only changes every minute. It will NOT immediately start counting down in minutes and seconds unless you set the Timer for 1 minute.

  • The Timer will count down in seconds when there is 1 minute remaining. When the Timer gets to 1 minute, it will then count down 59, 58, 57, and so on.

  • On some models, the Timer does not flash or indicate it is in "set" mode (flashing digits). Once you press Start it will look the same as it did when setting the Timer. Wait one minute and the Timer's time remaining will change. To test the Timer, set it for 1 minute and press Start so that you see it counting down in seconds.

  • On Double Wall Ovens and Double Oven Ranges, you can only set the Timer for use with one oven at a time.

  • The Timer can be set from 00:01 - 11:59.
