Dishwasher - Missing Upper Spray Arm

If the dishwasher has a multi-level wash system but no upper spray arm, check the ceiling of the dishwasher for a spinner (hub) with holes on the sides. The spinner takes the place of the upper spray arm and distributes water in the same way as a spray arm. Because there are no spray arms to block, taller items can be placed in the upper rack.
