Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Freezer Drawer Opening Crooked

If the freezer drawer on your Bottom Freezer refrigerator is a little wobbly or uneven when opened and closed, this is normal. Obviously, if the freezer drawer is violently shaking and falling off the drawer slides or rails, this may be a need for a service person to address.

Understanding a Freezer Drawer Opening Crooked on a Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

If the freezer drawer is wobbling, crooked or uneven when it is opened, this called "racking" and is normal. This racking is an advantage when the freezer drawer closes, allowing the gasket on the freezer drawer better flexibility to seal against the refrigerator cabinet.

This most often occurs when one side of the handle is pulled in order to open the drawer. To prevent racking, we recommend opening the freezer drawer by pulling straight out from the center of the door handle.
