Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Removing Freezer Drawer Slides
On many Bottom Freezer Refrigerator models, the Freezer drawer slides can be removed by following the instructions provided below.
Removing the Freezer Drawer Slides on a Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
First, unplug the Refrigerator or turn power to the fridge off at the circuit breaker/fuse box in the home before working on your Refrigerator.
Remove the Freezer drawer following the Installation Instructions for the specific model you own. Also, you may want to check out the Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Removing Freezer Drawer article.
Remove the upper and lower Freezer baskets.
After the upper and lower baskets are removed, pull the pin on the crossbar located along the right hand side of the rack and pinion gear assembly by sliding it upward.
Remove the crossbar by sliding it to the right, then to the left.
Remove the (4) 1/4" hex head bolts on each side and remove the side supports.
Reverse the steps to assemble. Note: When inserting the crossbar always put the hole on the right hand side.
