Range & Wall Oven - Timer Not Counting Down

Ranges and wall ovens feature a Timer on the oven controls. This is sometimes referred to as a Kitchen Timer. The Timer can be used when cooking something in the oven or on a cooktop burner.

Using the Timer Function on a Range or Wall Oven

The range or wall oven Timer operates as an hour and minute timer and can be used at any time, even when the range is not in use. This is an hour and minute timer, so the time only changes every minute. It will NOT immediately start counting down in seconds (59, 58, 57, etcetera) until the Timer reaches 1 minute.

When the Timer is pressed, the display will read 0:00. Enter the time and press Start. On some models, the Timer does not flash or indicate it is in "set" mode (flashing digits). Once you press Start, the Timer time remaining will show on the display and will look the same as it did when setting the Timer. After one minute the Timer's time remaining will change.

  • To test the Timer: Set 1 minute and press Start so that you see it counting down in seconds.
