Range - Oven Light on JGB700

Freestanding gas range JGB700 (Models: JGB700SEJ, JGB700EEJ, JGB700DEJ) started production in August 2015. Initial production models do not have an oven light switch / button on the control panel. The only way to turn on the oven light is to open the door.Due to the popularity of the feature, a running change was made to newer production models starting December 2016. Models manufactured December 2016 and after have an Oven Light pad on the control panel. This allows you to turn on the oven light without opening the door. The pictures for this model on our GE Appliances web site have been changed to show this model with an Oven Light pad.How to Determine the Age or Manufacture Date of a GE ApplianceMost dealers will have the original model without the Oven Light on their showroom floor. If this range is purchased new, it will have the Oven Light feature as seen in the features and pictures on the website.
