Opal Ice Maker - Steps to Drain

There may be times when you need the drain the water from your Opal ice maker. This task is very easily accomplished.

Draining the Opal Ice Maker

1. Unhook the top of the drain hoses at the back of the ice maker.

2. Lay the hoses down to drain into a sink or bucket that is below the level of the ice maker.

3. Remove the plugs and allow the water to completely drain.

4. Once water stops flowing, re-insert the drain plugs.

Identifying When the Opal Should Be Drained

• You're putting it away for storage or any time it is being relocated.

• You're turning it off for more than a few days such as going away on vacation.

• There is low usage of the ice. Continuous recirculation of meltwater may affect taste.
