Top Load Washer - Stain Removal Guide Feature
The Stain Removal Guide feature was offered on select Top Load Washer models. The Stain Removal Guide feature allows you to indicate what stains are on the garments in the wash load so that the Washer can add a period of prewash and soak before starting the wash cycle. This feature can be applied to most wash cycles as described in the Owner's Manual for the model you own.
Understanding the Stain Removal Guide Feature
- The initial water fill is at a temperature tailored to the stain type you have selected and adds an appropriate amount of water to enable a concentrated cleaning.
- A stain scrubbing period, followed by an active soak (periodically agitates briefly), is conducted to effectively treat the stain.
- Then, additional water is added to the temperature you selected for the wash cycle and the wash cycle you chose will start.
Using the Stain Removal Guide
- Select the desired wash cycle.
- Press the Stain Removal Guide button.
- Continue to press to select Tomato stain, Wine stain, Blood stain, Grass stain or Dirt stain. The indicator light will show the selected stain.
- To select a different stain, press the Stain Removal Guide button until the desired stain to be removed is lit.
- To turn off the Stain Removal Guide, press until no indicator lights are illuminated.
Additional Notes
- The Soil and Temperature levels will be changed to match the recommended default setting for each stain type. Turning off the Stain Removal Guide will return the settings to default.
- Recommended temperatures are optimal for stain removal performance. However, you can adjust temperature selections to suit the load being washed.
- Ensure the stain is completely removed after the wash cycle and before placing in dryer; very tough stains may require a second treatment.
