Over-the-Range Microwave - Installation on Counter or Shelf

Over-the-Range Microwave ovens and Advantium/Five in One ovens cannot be used on a counter or shelf and are not UL (Underwriters Laboratory) approved for this purpose.

 

Keep in mind the underside is not flat on an Over-the-Range Microwave or Advantium/Five in One oven. This would not provide a stable surface. Additionally, there can be a heat issue, especially if the vent fan or surface lights were accidentally turned on.

 

Other Installation/Use Considerations:

• Do not install within a closed cabinet or a cut-out space where the bottom is covered.

• These can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a cooking surface underneath the appliance. However, the height clearances outlined in the Installation Instructions must still be met.
