Monogram Range - Griddle Not Heating to Set Temperature
On Monogram dual fuel or gas ranges, the griddle is thermostatically controlled and can be set to maintain any temperature from 200ºF to 450ºF. If you are measuring your griddle temperature with a thermometer or thermostat and the reading is less than the set temperature, this does not necessarily mean the griddle is mot working properly. Most measurement devices are not accurate, especially with griddle surfaces.
To test the griddle, let it preheat and then pour a couple of drops of water onto the hot surface; they should quickly sizzle when the griddle is hot.
