Range Backsplash Heat Shield / Deflector

Some gas range models have a heat shield / deflector (also referred to as a backguard eyebrow) located just below the control panel. Slate and Black Slate models and higher BTU range models require a heat shield.  Stainless and color models without two 18K Power Boil burners do not have a deflector. This is very common in higher end ranges due to the high heat output to protect the controls.
