Refrigerator - V or T Shaped Piece Under Refrigerator

It is possible that you may notice a plastic or metal piece attached to the bottom, underside of your refrigerator. This piece is supposed to be there and is a normal part of the refrigerator design.

Understanding the V or T Shaped Piece Underneath a Refrigerator

Many of our refrigerators have an upside-down "V" or a "T" shaped plastic or metal channel located underneath the refrigerator that touches or nearly touches the kitchen floor. This diverter (deflector) piece helps keep the cold air supply and warm air return separate from each other under the appliance. This strip also helps direct cold air flow better out the front of the appliance.
