Dishwasher - Dry Boost

Dry Boost (available on some Dishwasher models, starting in 2018) is an innovative new drying option that targets hard-to-dry items like plastics. It significantly improves drying performance, providing up to three times better drying compared to a Heated Dry option.

Dry Boost Technology

The Dry Boost technology consists of:
  • A new dual-wattage element: 500 watts dry, 800 watts wet. The element is a box shape (rather than a crescent shape) that wraps around the bottom perimeter of the Dishwasher. The element is exposed.
  • New time and temperature algorithms have been implemented to target plastics. Dry Boost has a higher final rinse temperature with additional dry time to heat, which is approximately 40 minutes. The heat drives moisture off the dishes and silverware and is vented out of the machine through a natural convection airflow.
  • Fan Assist on select models further enhances the drying process.
  • The use of a rinse agent further improves drying results.

How to Activate Dry Boost

For most of our Dishwasher models, pressing the Dry touchpad once selects Heated Dry, and a second time activates Dry Boost. Dry Boost remains engaged until de-selected by pressing the Dry button. The new GE Appliances plastic tub Dishwashers ship with Heated Dry on (which is different than previous models). For specific instructions for your model, please refer to the Owner's Manual.
