Café Appliance - How to Determine the Age or Manufacture Date
Knowing the date your appliance was manufactured can be useful. You might need it to determine the appliance warranty status, or you might need it to help you decide whether it is time to replace your appliance.
Determining Manufacture Date
To determine the age of your appliance, use the serial number, not the model number, to identify the date it was manufactured. Our serial numbers begin with two letters, followed by six numbers, with a letter at the end. The two letters at the beginning of the serial number tell you the month and year it was made.
Where is my model and serial number located?
- The first letter identifies the month.
- The second letter identifies the year.
The corresponding letters for months and years are in the chart below. For example, if the serial number begins with the letters "GA," the appliance was manufactured in April of 2001 or April of 2013 or April of 2025.
Note: Every twelve years we run through the alphabet, and start over at letter A. So, some serial numbers may be duplicated, but correspond with different years. For example, the serial number of AD could be January 2002, January 2014 or January 2026. If you are still unsure of the year of manufacture, Contact Us with your model and serial number for further assistance.
