Dryer - Knockout Removal

Dryers come with a standard rear exhaust configuration. There may be times when you need to exhaust out the side or bottom of a dryer. When preparing a dryer for side or bottom exhaust, you will need to detach and remove the right (electric models only), left or bottom knockout, as desired.

Removing the Exhaust Knockout on a Dryer

The dryer exhaust knockout is held in place by a few small tabs. To remove, use a hammer and a screwdriver to break those points/tabs holding the knockout in place.
