Gas Range - Island Installation

When a gas cooktop or range is installed in an island, there is a minimum clearance requirement between the cut-out and edge of the countertop. The clearances in the Installation Instructions must be met. 

 

• For island installations, there are incremental requirements because it does not assume the product is installed against a rear wall protecting the back of the unit. Because of this, we must evaluate product safety differently in an island install than we do with a standard installation. 

• This island clearance requirement originates from a third-party agency standard and is a standard with any brand.
