Dishwasher - Adjusting Leveling Legs
When the dishwasher is removed from the box, there are four leveling legs attached to a wood skid (two on each side). To detach the dishwasher from the skid, the legs must first be removed. Do not throw them away. They are the leveling legs required for installation of the dishwasher. For more information about the leveling legs, consult your Installation Instructions.
-
The dishwasher must be level for proper dish rack operation, wash performance and door operation. An easy way to see if your dishwasher is level is to open the door and see if the rack rolls out as soon as you open the door. If the racks roll out, this indicates your dishwasher is angled forward and needs to be properly leveled.
-
Another way to check the leveling is to take a level and place it on the top rack rail to ensure it is level.
If the dishwasher is not level, adjust the 4 leveling legs.
-
The leveling legs are screws on the bottom of dishwasher that will level the dishwasher when adjusted.
-
To level the dishwasher, use an adjustable wrench and turn the legs clockwise to raise or counter-clockwise to lower the dishwasher on that side.
3-point leveling (also called a rear leveling system) is featured on select dishwasher models. If your model has a rear leveling system, the rear height is adjusted from the front of the dishwasher along with the 2 front legs on the bottom of the dishwasher.
For 3-point leveling models, adjust the legs as follows.
-
Begin the leveling process with the front legs by individually turning the front 2 legs. Adjust the front legs first.
-
When the front legs are adjusted to a height resulting in an appropriate gap to the upper cabinet, proceed to adjust the rear leveling system by adjusting the leveling bolt.
-
Turn the bolt to adjust the rear leveling system. Slowly rotate the bolt clockwise to raise the back of the dishwasher and counterclockwise to lower it.
