Built-In Air Conditioner - Filter Reminder Function

Built-In Air conditioners have a filter that should be cleaned regularly. We recommend cleaning the filter at least every 30 days.

Understanding the Filter Reminder Function on an Air Conditioner

To remind you to clean the filter, most Cool Only models have a Filter Reminder function that will turn on a Reset Filter LED on the control panel when it is time to clean the filter. The LED comes on after 250 hours of accumulated fan run time.

  • Heat/Cool models (typically start with AJEQ or AJEM) do not have this feature.
  • Cool Only models with this feature will have a Reset Filter pad with an LED on the control panel. Check the control panel on your model or zoom in on the online photos for the model you're interested in.

Resetting the Filter Indicator

  1. Remove and clean the filter. The process varies by model, so we recommend checking the Owner's Manual for instructions relevant to your model.
  2. Press Reset Filter to turn off the LED and reset the accumulated run time.

Disabling the Filter Reminder

The air conditioner's default setting is to have the reminder enabled, but you can turn it off if you prefer not to have the Filter Reminder.

  1. This function is set in the auxiliary controls (dip switches) located behind the room cabinet. Check the Owner's Manual for more information about the location of the auxiliary controls.
  2. When this switch is enabled (RIGHT), the LED will come on after 250 hours of accumulated fan run time. When this switch is disabled (LEFT), the function is disabled.
