Air Conditioner - Spitting Water to the Outside

Since warm moist (humid) air from the room condenses on the cold indoor coil, water is normally found in the base pan. The moisture that the air conditioner removes from the indoor air goes into the base pan, where the condensate water it is picked up by a slinger ring on the fan blades and is thrown against the outdoor condenser coil.

This can cause a pinging sound or cause spitting water from the outside of the unit. This is normal. This method of moisture removal improves the operational efficiency of the air conditioner.
