Oven Rack and Cavity - Rust or Brown Spots

If you're seeing what looks like rust or a brown substance on your oven racks or on the interior walls on the oven, it is most likely cooked-on oils like olive oil, coconut oil, peanut oil, walnut oil etc. While we do recommend lubricating your racks with a very light coating of vegetable oil, it is important to only use "vegetable" oil. Make sure it is a very light coating, since using more can also cause spots of burned-on oil residue.

To clean this residue, use a soap and water or a vinegar and water solution. Be sure to rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
