Wall Oven or Range - My Self-Clean Cycle Didn't Start
Wall ovens and ranges with self-clean cycles can be set to start immediately or even at a future time (on some models). If you started the self-clean cycle but it never started, it may be easy to resolve.
Before considering service, check the following:
-
Starting temperature of the oven too high
-
The self-clean cycle will not start if the oven temperature is too high. If you just finished cooking, give the oven time to cool completely before self-cleaning.
-
-
Make sure you set up the cycle properly
-
It's easy to accidentally skip a step. Check your Owner's Manual to verify the steps for setting self-clean on your model.
-
-
If you have a double oven,self-clean will only run on one oven at a time.
If this doesn't help get the self-clean cycle started, you may need service. For service, please schedule an appointment with GE Appliances Factory Service.
