When you turn on the Opal Ice Maker, the Opal will begin to produce ice in 15 to 30 minutes. It will continue to make ice until the bin is full, or it runs out of water. To continue making ice, just add more water.

Diagnosing an Opal Ice Maker That Is Shutting Off After 5 Minutes of Operation

If you turn on the Opal, but it is shutting off after just five minutes, this could indicate a malfunctioning ice bin switch. Make sure the ice bin is pushed all the way into the appliance. If the ice bin is fully engaged and the Opal still shuts off after five minutes, service is most likely necessary.
