Opal Ice Maker - Not Making Ice

If your Opal Ice Maker is not making ice, it may be about to start the ice making process. If that is the case, the Ice Maker will visually indicate what mode it is in. The information below will help you determine the status of the Opal Ice Maker in the ice making process.

Models with a Round Button on the Front

  • You should see white on the button on the front of the Opal. If you see white, the Opal will flush the system with water for approximately 5 minutes. You may see or hear water running during this process. Let the Ice Maker work until it starts producing ice.
  • If the button on the front is yellow, the Opal is set in the cleaning mode and will not produce ice. Slide the switch on the back of the Opal to ICE and the Ice Maker will begin to produce ice.

Models without a Round Button on the Front

(XPIO13BCBT, XPIO13SCSS, XPIO23BCBT, XPIO23SCSS)

  • In the upper left corner on the front of the Opal you will see Making Ice when it is going into or is already in that mode. Allow the Ice Maker some time to start producing more ice.
  • If Add Water is highlighted, your Opal needs more water before it can cycle to make ice.
  • If you see Cleaning or Defrosting on the front, the Ice Maker is in the cleaning or defrosting mode and will not produce ice.
